It began in the quiet, deceptive space of a disappearing message. When a local police officer used Snapchat to groom my daughter while she was babysitting for him, he didn't just exploit her trust—he exploited the technology itself. Because the messages vanished, the evidence vanished with them. Despite the trauma, he walked away with a "not guilty" verdict simply because there was no digital paper trail to prove the grooming occurred. Because I didn't know what was happening until it was too late I had already washed her clothes so all that was found was a single sperm head,  and that even was not enough as it only showed someone of his ethnicity (he was Indian) and couldn't identify him personally.

I watched as this same story repeated itself on a national scale. I saw the faces of missing children lured from their homes, and then came the "straw that broke the camel’s back": the tragic death of Hailey Buzbee in Fishers, Indiana. Hailey was 17, a neighbor, a child of our community, lured through a gaming platform and lost forever.

I realized then: the internet is a playground without a lifeguard. It was time to fight back!!
